Chia oil is native to Central America and derived from the Salvia hispanica plant (aka the Chia plant). Chia seed is very nutritional. It exceptioanlly rich in EFA (essential fatty acids) and also provides Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, and Vitamin B3 as well as a number of important minerals, including phosphorus, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, molydenum, niacin, magnesium, copper and even boron (which helps the body absorb calcium). Each serving of Chia oil amazingly provides 8,765 mg of Omega-3, 1,690 mg of Omega-6, and 1,000 mg of Omega-9 essential fatty acids. Chia oil is a great alternative to fish oil (i.e. cod liver oil), along with flax seedoil being the the two most popular oils for Omega-3. However, Chia oil has several advantages over fish oil and flax seed oil. Chia seed oil contains the same Omega-3 fatty acids in greater quantities and since it is derived from a plant source, it is a more attractive supplement than fish oil for vegetarians and vegans and people who prefer plant extracts. And unlike fish oil, Chia oil is free of mercury found in a lot of fish and fish oil supplements. Chai seed is great for the hair, skin, and nails. It is one of the best oils for skin care. Chia oil is gluten-free, low in sodium, and low in cholesterol. It can be takem internally (a teaspoon daily) and mixed into salads dresses, sauces, dipping oils and smoothies. For internal and external use. Refrigerate after opening. Directions: Take 1 teaspoon daily or as needed.
